This program has been created for individual Girl Scouts who have an interest in design and/or architecture. Parents/caregivers should complete the registration form, not troop leaders.
AIA Kansas City and its committee, Women in Design, and Girls Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri are excited to bring Cookie Construction for its sixth year to area Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts will work in teams with female professionals from the design industry, over six months, to create structures out of Girl Scout Cookie boxes culminating with a build day in March

Cookie Construction Kick-Off Day
September 14, 2019, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Camp Prairie Schooner
Girl Scout participants and caregivers will come together for a continental breakfast and meet their fellow team members and professional volunteers.
Architectural Tour TBD
Girl Scout participants and mentors will take an architectural tour and have a conversation with one of the lead architects on the design of the facility.
Build Day
March 7, 2020, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Crown Center
Girl Scout participants and their professional volunteers will build their construction and a jury of local architects will choose a top construction based on design and structure.
Tear Down Day
March 28, 2020 10:00 – 10:30 am
Girl Scouts will strike their builds, earn their patches and find out who is the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. Plan to spend the day at Crown Center after tear down is complete!
