DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a weekend of adventure, skill-building, and sisterhood in the beautiful woodlands of Knob Noster State Park during Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend! This exciting overnight event is designed for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors to complete their full Outdoor Journey, including three skill-based badges and Take Action project. Each level will follow a customized track that includes primitive camping, outdoor cooking, hiking, environmental education, and a service project to give back. \n  \n  \n Transportation Options \n  \n  \n  \n We are offering two options for drop-off and pick-up: \n  \n  \n  \n Option 1: Bus Transportation from GSKSMO Headquarters (Overland Park) \n  \n    Drop-off: Saturday at 8:15 AM \n  \n    Pick-up: Sunday at 12:00 PM \n  \n    Location: GSKSMO Headquarters - 10561 Barkley Street, Suite 101, Overland Park, KS 66212 \n  \n  \n  \n Option 2: Direct Drop-off at Knob Noster State Park \n  \n    Drop-off: Saturday at 10:30 AM \n  \n    Pick-up: Sunday at 10:00 AM \n  \n    Location: Knob Noster State Park &ndash; 873 SE 10 Rd, Knob Noster, MO 65336 Special Use Area Camping coordinates 38.750517, -93.584417 \n  \n   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Participants: Girl members  \n  \n  \n GS Grade Level: Cadette (6th - 8th), Senior (9th - 10th), Ambassador (11th - 12th) \n  \n  \n Outdoor Journey Badge Connections: \n  \n  \n  \n Cadette - Night Owl, Trailblazing, Primitive Camper, and Take Action \n  \n  \n  \n Senior - Adventurer, Senior First Aid, Adventure Camper, and Take Action \n  \n  \n  \n Ambassador - Outdoor Art Master, Water, Survival Camper, and Take Action \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n FAQ \n  \n  \n Q: My girl has never camped or hiked before. Can she still attend? \n  \n A: Absolutely! This event is designed for all experience levels. With guidance from trained staff and volunteers, girls will build outdoor skills in a supportive environment&mdash;whether it&rsquo;s their first time camping or they&rsquo;re seasoned explorers. \n  \n  \n Q: My Girl Scout has already completed her Outdoor Journey. Can she still attend? \n  \n A: Yes! While this trip includes all the components to complete the Outdoor Journey, girls are welcome regardless of prior completion. The experience focuses on deepening skills, building community, and having fun. \n  \n  \n Q: Do parents need to provide a tent or other gear? \n  \n A: Council will provide all of the tents. Participants will need to bring personal camping items (e.g., sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries). A full packing list will be sent after registration closes. \n  \n  \n Need help accessing gear? Let us know&mdash;camping gear is available by request. \n  \n  \n Q: Will girls have access to restrooms? \n  \n A: Yes, restrooms are located near the campsite. During hikes or other activities away from basecamp, girls should carry a sanitation kit. \n  \n  \n Q: Do parents or troop leaders need to attend? \n  \n A: No. This is a Council-led trip for Girl Members only. Our team of highly trained and vetted staff and volunteers ensures all safety ratios are met in accordance with Safety Activity Checkpoints. \n  \n  \n Q: Do girls need to bring food? \n  \n A: No, all meals and snacks are provided. \n
