Whether this is your first backpacking experience or you’re a backpacking veteran, Devil's Den State Park is the perfect location for a spring weekend getaway. This trip will be led by our Outdoor Experiences staff and experienced outdoor volunteers. We will meet at Camp Prairie Schooner on Friday, October 15th at 7:30 am and return to the Camp Prairie Schooner lot by 6:30PM on Sunday, October 17th.

Girls will backpack a total of 15 miles over the course of 3 days and primitive camp 2 nights. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Girls should bring 2 dehydrated meals for dinner (meals that only require the addition of boiling water - Mountain House are the recommended brand, if you have a food sensitivity or allergy check out Good To Go Backpacking and dehydrated camping meals).

Badge/Journey Connection: This excursion completes the following badges and badge pieces (physical badge is not included with purchase.)

Cadettes - Trailblazing Badge, Primitive Camper, Steps 1 and 3 of Eco Trekker.

Seniors - Adventure Camper Badge, Steps 2 and 3 of Adventurer Badge.

Ambassadors - Survival Camper Badge, Steps 1 and 2 of the Ultimate Recreation Challenge. .

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy: Cancelled by the Girl Scouts: The total fee is refunded if the event is cancelled by Girl Scout staff due to severe weather, staffing, or equipment issues. (Please note: We only cancel for weather when our staff determines that the activity cannot be conducted safely.) Cancellation by the group/camper more than 3 weeks out: If the troop or individual cancels less than 3 weeks prior to the event date, the fee will be refunded if a written request is received by at least 3 weeks prior to the event date. Cancellations by the group/camper less than 3 weeks out: If the troop or individual cancels less than 3 weeks prior to the event date, the fee not be returned to the group or individual except in case of illness where a written refund request is accompanied by a statement from the attending physician.
